For my essay I will be profiling a group of Fiat850 enthusiasts. I am still deciding what particular aspect I will focus my essay on. Possibly whether a Fiat was their first car purchase and how it has effected any subsequent car purchases. Maybe determining what has made them so devoted to this particular make and model of car, or even if the 850 is their model of choice. I've also considered focusing on the few in the group who repair or race these cars as a career instead of just a hobby or focus specifically on those who build them just for racing or for car shows.
I think it would be interesting to focus on the people who actually build the cars. Who first invented this car and why did they choose to make it look they way it does?
ReplyDeleteLooking at people that possibly hate that type of car could be a different way of looking at it. Get insight to people that are obsessed with the car and then ones that despise it. What are their reasonings?
Who owns or covets the car?
ReplyDeleteWhen did they first find out about that exact car?
Those are just a few things that I would think about. Have the current enthusiasts been interested in it for years (if not decades) or have they only recently stumbled upon it?
Another thing to think about would be about how the people in the groups interact with each other. How close are they? Do they keep in touch throughout the years besides the gathering of the cars?
ReplyDeleteI would like to take the perspective of the obsessors. Figure out the reasons they love the car and what they are planning to do with the car. The people who collect the cars might have very different views on the car compared to car repairmen or racers.
ReplyDeleteI Love you group that you are researching. One question i would ask members is how hard is it to get OEM parts for the fiat into the US?
